RTI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a web-based service that connects event organizers and professional human interpreters for real-time interpretation. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
What we do not collect or store
- No recordings: We do not record, store, or retain audio from interpretation sessions.
- No automated transcription/AI: We do not run AI processing on live audio or store transcripts.
Information we may collect
- Contact details: If you email us or submit a form, we receive your name, email, and message.
- Session metadata (non-content): Basic technical and operational data such as channel name/slug, role (listener/interpreter/organizer), connection status, and counts of attendees per language. We do not store audio content.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and basic diagnostics to keep the service reliable and secure.
How we use information
- To operate and secure live interpretation sessions.
- To provide support and respond to inquiries.
- To improve reliability, performance, accessibility, and user experience.
Third-party services
We use infrastructure providers to deliver the service. For example:
- Real-time media: We use a real-time communications platform (e.g., Agora) to transmit live audio. Audio is processed in real time to enable the session and is not stored by us.
- Signaling & presence: We may use WebSockets (e.g., Socket.IO) to coordinate session state and counts.
- Form handling/email: If you submit a contact form or email us, your message is processed by the relevant email or form provider you choose.
Retention
We retain contact messages and minimal session metadata (non-content) only as long as necessary for support, security, or legitimate business purposes. We do not retain audio.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children’s privacy
RTI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- You can choose not to provide contact information. However, we will be unable to respond to inquiries without it.
- You can request correction or deletion of your contact information by emailing us.
International users
Your information may be processed in the country where our infrastructure or providers operate. By using RTI, you consent to this processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
